Progressive Solutions for European Feed Autonomy through Sustainable Plant Protein Value Chains

CER Groupe Coordinator: Maxime Gavage

The ProFEED project aims to strengthen European autonomy in plant-based proteins for animal feed. It develops sustainable value chains based on protein-rich crops such as soybean, lupin and alfalfa, combining agronomic trials, screening of resilient varieties, low-impact processing technologies, feed formulation, animal trials, digital decision-support tools and training activities for agricultural and agri-food stakeholders.

CER Groupe contributes its expertise in food and feed testing, animal nutrition, protein quality characterisation and feed safety assessment. Its activities include nutritional requirement assessment, evaluation of raw materials and feed formulations, applied animal trials (particularly in poultry) and support for the sanitary and regulatory compliance of the developed solutions. This contribution reflects CER Groupe’s role as a scientific partner supporting innovation in agriculture, animal feed and food safety.
