Why this internship?

The digital transformation of preclinical activities has become a major challenge in improving traceability, data quality, and operational efficiency throughout studies. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative digital tools designed to structure, centralize, and leverage data generated throughout the entire lifecycle of preclinical studies—from study design through retrospective analysis and reporting.

Scientific and Technological Context

Preclinical studies generate increasing volumes of heterogeneous data from biological, analytical, and operational platforms. As part of our digitalization and data security strategy, our platform develops digital tools aimed at improving longitudinal study tracking, experimental data integration, and standardized reporting within a secure IT environment compliant with quality requirements.

Internship Objectives

As part of the development of digital solutions for preclinical activities, the internship will focus on one of the following areas:

Topic 1: Interactive Dashboard Development

Development of interactive dashboards for longitudinal monitoring of preclinical studies, including operational, analytical, and quality indicators from study initiation through study closure.

Topic 2: Experimental Data Integration and Structuring

Development of tools to integrate and structure experimental data from various preclinical platforms, facilitating data exploitation, traceability, and harmonization.

Topic 3: Automated Reporting and Retrospective Analysis

Development of automated reporting and retrospective analysis solutions aimed at enhancing the value of preclinical data and supporting scientific and operational decision-making.

Methods and Technologies

  • Development of dashboards and user interfaces
  • Structuring and management of scientific databases
  • Multi-source data integration and processing
  • Development of automation and reporting tools
  • Use of data visualization and analysis tools
  • Introduction to secure IT environments and quality requirements
  • Contribution to operational workflow and data management optimization

Candidate Profile

This internship is intended for students in computer science, bioinformatics, data science, biomedical engineering, or a related engineering discipline with an interest in life sciences and the digitalization of R&D activities.

Skills in programming (Python, R, SQL, or web technologies), data management, data visualization, or artificial intelligence tools are considered an asset. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate rigor, autonomy, analytical thinking, and an interest in multidisciplinary environments.

Duration and Location

Duration: 3 to 6 months

Location: CER Groupe – Rue de la Science 8, 6900 Aye (Marche-en-Famenne), Belgium
