Monoclonal Antibody Services

Looking for a partner who can generate the exact monoclonal antibody you need, not impose a predefined package?

CER Groupe develops fully custom monoclonal antibodies, starting from your target and application. You tell us what you need the antibody to do; we design the strategy, select the most relevant species, and coordinate immunisation, screening, cloning and production steps.

Our ISO9001-certified infrastructure combines in‑house animal facilities, screening technologies, recombinant expression options and application-oriented characterisation. And because our model is 100% fee‑for‑service, you always retain full IP and full freedom of use.

Why Choose CER Groupe?

Tailored strategy — never pre‑packaged

We define with you the best combination of species, screening depth and production route, ensuring your monoclonal antibody fits your application.

One integrated site

  • Mouse, rat and rabbit immunisations
  • Hybridoma or rabbit B‑cell workflows
  • Recombinant expression possibilities
  • Purification, conjugation & freeze‑drying
  • Scale-up & preclinical support via dedicated pages

Full IP for the client

We do not retain any intellectual property on antibodies generated for you. You own everything — sequence, clone, materials, data.

Diagnostic & biotech‑ready

Our antibodies support ELISA, LFA, CLIA, cell‑based assays, research workflows, and upstream preclinical stages (in vitro/in vivo testing via other CER services).

Monoclonal Antibody Development Workflow

Below is an example of a typical monoclonal project workflow, with indicative durations, key testing points and deliverables. Exact timelines depend on target complexity and species.

1. Project Definition & Antigen Strategy (1–2 weeks)

Goal : Build the right plan around your target & application. What we do together :

  • Confirm antigen format and specifications
  • Define species: mouse, rat or rabbit
  • Select screening depth (number of candidates & assays)
  • Choose between hybridoma or rabbit B‑cell workflow
  • Define deliverables, timelines and budget

Deliverables :

  • Custom project plan
  • Antigen & species recommendation
  • Optional antigen production proposal
2. Immunisation Phase (6–10 weeks)

What we do :

  • Immunise animals with your antigen
  • Monitor immune response through serum testing
  • Adjust immunisation schedule if needed (flexible)

Testing :

  • Titer assessment against target antigen
  • Optional early functional verification (client or CER)

Client involvement :

  • Review of interim results
  • Go/No‑Go validation before entering cell fusion or B‑cell selection

Deliverables :

  • Immunisation report
  • Serum samples (on request)
  • Decision on best responder(s)
3. Screening & Candidate Identification (3–6 weeks)

Mouse & Rat — Hybridoma Workflow

  • Isolation of antibody‑producing cells
  • Selection of positive wells based on binding activity
  • Expansion of top candidates
  • Optional functional screening depending on your application

Rabbit — B‑Cell Workflow

  • Selection of B‑cells producing high‑affinity antibodies
  • Direct sequencing of VH/VL regions
  • Recombinant expression for stable long‑term supply

Testing :

  • Binding assays (ELISA or application-specific test)
  • Optional specificity / cross‑reactivity screening
  • Optional functional testing (client or CER)

Deliverables :

  • List of positive candidates + performance summary
  • Recommendation of top candidates to clone/sequence
4. Clonal Selection & Stabilisation (4–8 weeks)

Goal : Obtain a stable, reliable monoclonal antibody source.

What we do :

  • Clonal isolation (hybridoma) or recombinant expression (rabbit)
  • Isotyping
  • Secondary validation of monoclonality & performance
  • Banking of stable clone(s)

Testing :

  • Binding confirmation
  • Application-oriented testing if required (client or CER)

Deliverables :

  • Purified antibodies from selected clone(s)
  • Performance summary
  • Optional sequence data (recombinant formats)
  • Optional Master Cell Bank creation (covered on another page)
5. Small-Scale Production & Purification (2–4 weeks)

What we do :

  • Production of mg‑ to multi‑mg batches
  • Purification adapted to your needs
  • Optional buffer exchange or conjugation
  • Optional freeze‑drying (diagnostic-friendly)

Testing :

  • Concentration, purity, identity
  • Optional functional/activity/physico-chemical tests : affinity, potency, PTM analysis

Deliverables :

  • Purified monoclonal antibody (liquid or lyophilised)
  • Certificate of Analysis
  • Project summary with performance highlights
6. Optional Progression to Engineering / Biomanufacturing / Preclinical

These steps have their own dedicated pages, but are fully compatible with our monoclonal workflow.

Depending on your needs, we can connect your monoclonal antibody to :

  • Antibody engineering (reformatting, Fc variants, scFv, chimerisation…)
  • Biomanufacturing (multi‑gram or routine diagnostic production)
  • Cryostorage (long-term backup of your clone or sequence)
  • Preclinical services (in vitro/in vivo models, biodistribution, PoC
